We need families and businesses in the community, nationally and internationally to get involved with this work. In fact, it can only be done with your support.
Supporting existing homes:
- Commit to a monthly financial contribution.
- Volunteer your time. This would be a wonderful “gap year” activity for teenagers or life experience for staff. It would also suit the actively retired.
- Donate toys, cots, push chairs, nappies or formula as a once off or on a regular basis.
The bigger picture:
Whilst every life counts, we realise that our efforts are a drop in the ocean. It is important for us to use this work to encourage others to do the same and the broader vision is to equip others to start their own baby house. As founder of the national media campaign Stop Crime Say Hello (www.sayhello.co.za), Justin Foxton uses his daily radio show to encourage participation and inform the broader public on how to go about getting involved.
