Our Future Objectives
Unless the problem of abandoned children is attacked and remedied at the grass roots level, this terrible tragedy will continue day in and day out. With this in mind we have prepared a the following that must be addressed...
1. There are many orphans and vulnerable children
2. Tremendous suffering of people living with HIV/AIDS
 3. Stigmatization of HIV/AIDS
4. Non-compliancy of TB/ARV medications
5. Inadequate medical assistance for children living
with HIV/AIDS
6. Too few social workers and they have tremendous
work loads
7. Foster grants are not reaching all the
intended recipients.
8. If children do not have parents death certificates
and their own birth certificates
they cannot access
the Foster grant programme
9. Caregivers and orphans have little to eat and
need nutrition.
10. Lack of basic facilities i.e. water, electricity,
housing in some areas.
11. Bottleneck at the courts for approving
foster grants
12. Lack of medication in clinics or no
doctors at the clinics
13. Lack of medical personnel with HIV/AIDS
expertise – especially in
diagnosing
secondary infections
14. Unemployment = poverty
15. Corruption
16. Cultural beliefs (AIDS is a curse not a disease,
cure by sleeping with a virgin
etc.)
17. Rape and child abuse
